INDIAN HISTORY - FREEDOM MOVEMENT:
         
In 1830 Landholders society was founded by Dwarakanath Tagore in Culcutta.
Britidh India association was founded by Debendranath Tagore in 1851 at Culcutta.
Bombay Presidency Association was founded by Feroz shah Mehata, Badruddin Tyabji, K.T.Telang in 1885 at Bombay.
Indian National congress (INC) was founded at Gokuldas tejpal Sanskrit college in Bombay in 1885.
INC was founded by A.O.Hume.  The first president of INC was W.C.Benerjee.
B.B.Tilak established Home rule League in April 1916 at Poona.
Mrs.Annie Besant established Home rule League in sep.1916 at Madras.
Government of India Act 1919, introduced dyarchy system.
Dyarchy system means the division of subjects of provincial government into reserved and transferred subjects.
Government of India Act 1919 introduced a bicameral legislature at the centre in place of the Imperial council.
Mahatma Gandhi returned to India from South Africa in 1915.  In 1916 Gandhiji founded the Sabarmati Asram at Ahmedabad.
Gandhiji fought for indigo planters of Champaran in Bihar against Tinkathia system.
British Govt. appointed a sedition committee in 1918 to report on the national movement India. It was headed by Mr.Justice Rowlatt.
Gandhiji started a satyagraha movement on 6th April, 1919 against rowlatt Act.  6th April 1919 was observed as Satyagraha day.
